I’m Joanna Lee Curtis

After working within administration, accounting and management roles for over 25 years, I relocated to Kent from London and set up JLCurtis PA and Administration Services.

I am meticulously organised, self-motivated and excellent with communication, this is extremely important especially as a Virtual PA to provide regular updates and manage expectations.

Others have described me as a good problem solver and approachable with a bright & positive attitude. I understand the importance of being presentable and I am comfortable in communication across all levels. 

I always use my initiative by drawing on the experience that I have and look at ways to improve the task in hand to ultimately save time & money, whether it is a simple spreadsheet to bring information together or an online portal.

Career

After finishing school at Blackheath High, I attended Orpington college where I completed Pitman and RSA qualifications. I then started working in Central London and over the next 28 years, worked my way up from a Junior Secretary, Administrator, PA to Business Owner to a Human Resources Manager, Training Coordinator and PA to the Managing Director.

During my last role, I was required to multitask managing both the Human Resources and Training & Development. Some of the duties included:-

  • Absence Management / Occupational Health.
  • Training and Development.
  • Recruitment and Selection.
  • Graduate Recruitment and management of working relationships with Universities across the UK.
  • Apprentice Recruitment and management of working relationships with Colleges.
  • Advisory for Managers.
  • Events Organisation (company and client events).
  • Management of Linkedin Account.
  • Management of the CITB Account and grant system.
  • Management of Private Healthcare.
  • Mental Health First Aider.
  • Full PA duties to the Managing Director to ensure efficient and smooth running of his workload.

I assisted the Managing Director and Chairman with all day to day tasks they needed, for example complex diary management, meetings, lunches, corporate days and the annual staff Christmas Party.

About Me Personally

I love being outdoors walking, cycling, kayaking and being fit & active.

I am extremely passionate about charity work to give something back. I have helped at Crisis at Christmas, the Eltham Foodbank, Eltham Demelza Hospice, Shine Marathon Walk.

Mental Health – I am extremely keen on supporting everyone with their mental health and became a MH First Aider in my last role.

I am also a dog lover and have taken on looking after two British Bulldogs (Doris & Fletcher) who are extremely greedy & lazy but equally loveable.
